NRFAC Camp Scholarships

Scholarships are available for New Richmond school district students in grades 6 – 11 to attend summer camps and/or Wisconsin State Honors Workshops*. Students are required to share their camp or workshop experience with the NRFAC board of directors in writing, in an email or in person to be considered for future NRFAC scholarships. The summary must be received or scheduled by the end of the calendar year. Students may also be asked to participate in a performance night to raise additional funds for scholarships. Please share photos on the NRFAC Facebook page or by email.

*Amounts awarded are determined by available funds from NRFAC donations.

Joan Tubbs Scholarship: $200

From the scholarship applications received, one recipient will also be awarded the Joan Tubbs Scholarship. It is open to any applicant and not dependent on the type of camp attending. No separate application needs to be submitted to be considered. Joan Tubbs was a longtime NRFAC board member who dedicated her life to the arts and to the New Richmond community.

Glen Highum Scholarship: $300 annually, no NRFAC application needed

The recipient will be determined at the high school and presented to a senior by a representative of the Highum family or NRFAC at the High School Awards Ceremony based on demonstrated vocal performance. Glenn was active in the NRFAC for many years and was instrumental in organizing our church choir clinics which were held for several years. These events brought in well-known clinicians to work with community members in improving their vocal performances as individuals and in groups. The recipient of this scholarship shows enjoyment of vocal performance, has willingly shared their talent with others, and has demonstrated vocal accomplishment.
